I'm a Vancouver Island photographer based in Parksville, photographing lifestyle sessions, families, and personal storytelling sessions across the island in a way that feels genuine. My approach is simple: create space for connection.

One of the things that makes Vancouver Island photography so unique is the sheer variety of landscapes packed into a relatively small area. Within a single day you can move from windswept Pacific coastline and cedar rainforest to quiet beaches overlooking the Salish Sea and the Coast Mountains on the mainland.


Along the east coast of Vancouver Island, places like Parksville and Qualicum Beach often offer calm water and expansive views across the Strait of Georgia toward the snow-covered mainland mountains. On clear evenings, the light reflects softly off the ocean while Mount Arrowsmith rises inland above forests of Douglas fir, western red cedar, and arbutus.


The West Coast feels entirely different. Around Tofino and Ucluelet, the Pacific shapes everything — misty shorelines, storm-worn trees, rocky cliffs, and rainforest ecosystems that are part of the Pacific temperate rainforest, one of the largest temperate rainforests in the world.

Photography Across Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island has always been deeply shaped by the ocean, forests, and the communities connected to them. From historic coastal towns and fishing communities to old-growth forests and rugged shorelines, each region carries a different atmosphere and rhythm.

Many of the places photographed across the island exist on the unceded traditional territories of First Nations including the Snuneymuxw, Qualicum, Tla-o-qui-aht, Huu-ay-aht, and many others whose connection to these lands stretches back thousands of years. That relationship to the land and water is still deeply felt throughout Vancouver Island today.

Vancouver Island is incredibly diverse, and each region has its own atmosphere, landscapes, and pace.

In the Parksville and Qualicum Beach area, low tides reveal expansive stretches of sand at places like Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, creating some of the most beautiful conditions for natural photography sessions.

The West Coast has a completely different energy.
