About Ambient Imagery Photography
Hey there! I'm Amber, the person behind Ambient Imagery Photography, based in Parksville on Vancouver Island.
I'm usually somewhere outdoors with sand on my shoes, a camera in my hands, and reminding people that they do not need to be perfect in front of the camera.
Most people show up to a session feeling a little unsure. They worry they are awkward, that their kids will not sit still, or that they will not know what to do. That is completely normal.
My sessions are not about standing still and smiling on command. They are about moving, exploring, and letting things unfold naturally. We walk, we talk, kids do their thing, and I keep an eye out for the small moments in between everything else. That is usually where the best photos live. A lot of people are surprised by how easy it feels once we get going.
I grew up on Vancouver Island, so the landscape is a big part of how I see things. Beaches, forests, shifting weather, ocean air, and soft evening light all find their way into my work. I spend a lot of time outside with my family, whether that is at the beach, camping, or heading down backroads just to see where they go.
I am drawn to natural movement, real connection, and moments that feel honest.

The goal is simple. I want you to feel comfortable.
You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to have it all figured out. You do not need to be anything other than yourselves.
